Authorities & scheme (verified)
- IANOR (Institut Algérien de Normalisation) — national standards body (Ministry of Industry).
- Conformity certificate — required to import merchandise and presented to customs for entry (documentary review, lab tests, inspection), alongside Algeria's strict import-licensing.
- Toxic / dangerous chemicals — a prior authorisation (autorisation préalable) is issued by the Minister of Commerce (advice from the CACQE), decision within 45 days; listed categories include acids, mineral/organic bases, oxidisers, detergents. Dangerous chemical materials also need a Ministry of Energy acquisition authorisation.
