Authorities & scheme (verified)
- Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) — national standards body.
- Imports Quality Monitoring Scheme (IQMS) — a destination-side inspection scheme (est. 1993): goods with mandatory standards are declared to MBS; import batch certificates issued; non-complying consignments denied entry. (Not an offshore PVoC.)
- Pesticides Control Board (PCB) — pesticide import permits (Pesticides Act 2000, amended 2018).
- Environment Management Act — hazardous waste/substance import needs a permit issued by the Minister (administered by the environmental authority; current agency confirmed per order).
